Dr. Peter Emer
Dr. Peter Emer founded Emer Eye Care in 1985 and has been serving our community with excellent eye care ever since. He has been active in the Greater Kenosha Lions Club and Kiwanis Club. He’s performed countless eye exams at no charge to Kenosha’s underprivileged population. Dr. Pete has led fourteen Lions Club eye mission trips to the Dominican Republic. For his dedication to the missions, he received the Vatican II award in 2012.
Dr. Pete was born and raised in South Milwaukee. He attended St. Joseph’s College in Indiana for his undergraduate studies in biology. He played college baseball for the division II Pumas. His earned his doctorate degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 1980. His three children attended Kenosha Tremper High School before going on to Wisconsin colleges. Dr. Pete feels lucky because he enjoys what he does and he loves coming in to work each day. You will see that dedication when he examines you with unparalleled enthusiasm!
Dr. Ben Emer
Dr. Ben Emer was born and raised in Kenosha, WI. He graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) in 2016. At ICO, Dr. Ben did rotations that specialized in vision therapy, ocular disease and contact lenses. He purchased Emer Eye Care in 2017, where he strives to continue the excellent, comprehensive patient care started by Dr. Pete over thirty-five years ago. Additionally, he’s on staff as an optometrist in the eye clinic at the Zablocki VA Hospital in Milwaukee, where he conducts exams on Mondays working with the very latest technology and a team of eye care professionals. He has also volunteered in the Dominican Republic for the eye clinic that his father started ten years ago. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and has traveled to Washington, D.C. and Madison, WI on numerous occasions to advocate for bills that support better patient care and access in optometry.
Dr. Ben practices comprehensive medical eye care – from managing and treating ocular disease and eye emegencies to fitting specialty contact lenses. He currently lives in Kenosha with his wife Andressa, their son Arthur (8yo), and daughters Olivia (6yo) and Zara (3yo). He’s an avid Packer fan, and also enjoys golf, staying active and traveling.
Dr. Rupal Clair
Dr. Rupal Clair is our new Optometrist at Emer Eye Care! A native of the suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Clair recieved her bachelor’s of science degree at DePaul University then went on to receive her Doctorate from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. She has been practicing in southeast Wisconsin/northern Illinois for over a decade and joined our office in 2023.
She has clinical experience serving patients at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL at the Indian Health Services in Santa Fe, NM and at the Veteran’s Hospital in Boston, MA.
Dr. Clair, a member of the American Optometric Association, practices comprehensive medical eye care including routine eye care, contact lens evaluations, diabetic eye exams, and diagnosis and management of a myriad of ocular diseases including macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma.
When Dr. Clair isn’t busy keeping up with the latest in eye care advancements she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and three young children.
